ZEMEN BAZAAR TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Zemen Bazaar e-commerce platform provided by MeMi PLC. By clicking agree, you accept these terms, effective upon acceptance. If you disagree, select Quit and refrain from using the platform.

1. Definitions

  • 1Customer/Buyer: Any person purchasing products/services via Zemen Bazaar.
  • 2Customer Account: Phone number and password-based account for interacting with vendors and delivery services.
  • 3Vendor/Seller: Licensed entity contracted with MeMi PLC to sell goods/services on Zemen Bazaar.
  • 4Escrow Account: Telebirr account holding payments until delivery confirmation or 5 days post-purchase.
  • 5Standard Delivery: Delivery within 13 days based on location.
  • 6Express Delivery: Delivery within 6 hours in Addis Ababa or same regional cities.
  • 7Telebirr: MeMi PLCs mobile money service for payments.
  • 8We: Ethio telecom. You: The customer.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By clicking agree and using the platform, you accept these terms. MeMi PLC reserves the right to modify terms, with changes notified via appropriate channels. Non-acceptance requires selecting Quit.

3. Activation

To use Zemen Bazaar, you must:

  1. 1Be 18+ and able to understand these terms.
  2. 2Have an active MeMi PLC SIM card and telebirr account.
  3. 3Notify MeMi PLC of unauthorized account access.

You are responsible for accurate account information and all account activities.

4. Product Availability and Payment

Product descriptions are accurate, but vendors may modify details without notice. Orders are offers to purchase, accepted upon telebirr payment. Payments are held in an escrow account until delivery confirmation or 5 days post-purchase. Refunds are issued to your telebirr account for cancellations or force majeure.

5. Shipping and Delivery

Orders are processed within 15 days. Delivery times vary by type:

Standard Delivery

1 day (same city); 3-5 days (different regions)

Express Delivery

6 hours (Addis Ababa/same regional cities, orders before 3 PM)

You must provide accurate delivery addresses and confirm receipt via the platform. Uncollected products incur 1% daily storage fees (max ETB 500) after 5 days, with disposal if unclaimed.

6. Returns and Refunds

Non-perishable items may be returned within 2 days if damaged, defective, or incorrect, in original condition. Contact the vendor via the platform; escalate to Ethio telecom if unresolved in 48 hours. Perishable goods are non-returnable. You bear return shipping costs unless the error is vendor-related.

7. Privacy and User Conduct

We respect your privacy but use data to improve services. You must secure your account and report unauthorized access. Prohibited actions include illegal activities, disrupting the platform, or infringing intellectual property. Violations may lead to account suspension or legal action.

8. Intellectual Property and Liability

All platform content is owned by MeMi PLC or its licensors. MeMi PLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. The platform is provided "as is" without warranties. Use is at your sole risk.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Ethiopian law. Disputes are resolved amicably or via competent courts. MeMi PLC is not liable for non-performance due to force majeure.
